The team at Meru Health has been working tirelessly to offer fast access to effective mental healthcare. Today stands as the biggest milestone in our journey so far — we are introducing The New Standard of Mental Healthcare.

With the ‘new standard’ we mean combining

  1. most effective therapy treatment modalities (CBT + MBCT + BAT)
  2. sleep medicine
  3. nutritional psychiatry
  4. continuous monitoring of treatment outcomes (self report + physiological markers)
  5. continuous proactive care by licensed clinicians (therapists + psychiatrists)
  6. heart rate variability biofeedback to strengthen parasympathetic nervous system and therefore participants response to stress
  7. peer support

into one solution to holistically address depression, anxiety and burnout.

Meru Health is the first company in the world to launch heart rate variability biofeedback as part of a mobile health treatment program for depression, anxiety, and burnout. We are also announcing the peer-reviewed publication of groundbreaking 1-year treatment results from our clinical trial by the Journal of Medical Internet Research mHealth & uHealth. Additionally, we have appointed UCSF Professor, Dr. Elissa Epel, Rutgers Professor, Dr. Paul Lehrer, and Physician-scientist, inventor & innovator, Dr. Daniel Kraft to join our scientific advisory board.

Major Milestones

  • Addition of Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback: We are thrilled to launch HRV Biofeedback as part of our program. In our clinical studies with Harvard and Rutgers researchers, we’ve seen the addition of HRV Biofeedback more than double the number of patients with clinically significant improvements in depression.
  • Commitment to Rigorous Science: We’ve recently submitted a controlled study for peer-review where we analyzed our HRV data and reported some of our findings in more detail. The paper, which is currently under peer-review, can be found pre-archived at PsyArXiv Preprints. We are also excited to publish our 1-year outcomes which are truly groundbreaking in terms of long-term efficacy in depression & anxiety care.
  • Industry Experts: Finally, we are honored to be working with such masterminds of medicine like Professor Elissa Epel, Professor Paul Lehrer, and Dr. Daniel Kraft, who are joining Meru Health on our journey to setting a new standard for the care of depression and anxiety.
